Attention Dilantin® Users: Stevens – Johnson Syndrome

Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) is an often deadly skin disorder / disease usually caused by a severe allergic response to either prescribed or over the counter medications.  One drug that has been linked to SJS is Dilantin®, an anti-epileptic medication used to control seizures.  Dilantin® controls seizures by slowing down impulses in the brain.

There is a broad understanding in the medical literature that an even more severe form of Stevens – Johnson Syndrome is called Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN), also known as Lyell’s syndrome.  All of these severe dermatological disorders are life threatening.   SJS and TEN potentially both fall on a spectrum of disease that includes erythema multiforme.

If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) following the taking of Dilantin®, or any other prescribed or over the counter drug, the attorneys / lawyers at The Mulligan Law Firm would like to hear from you immediately.  Do not delay or you may lose your legal rights if the statute of limitations time period expires.
